Description

The tan suede evening purse centring on an asymmetrical clasp with hinged hook fastening, decorated with black and red enamel, opening to reveal a silk interior with a main compartment and two side pockets, one containing a similarly covered mirror, later restored, measurements approximately length 217mm, width 135mm, depth  from 15mm to 30mm, stamped Cartier Made in France to interior, case by Cartier New York, accompanied by the original suede purse; together with a rectangular lady's handbag of blue leather, to  a bamboo handle, the terminals decorated with lapis lazuli, opening to reveal a single leather lined compartment with several side pockets, three containing two purses and a mirror, measurements approximately length 267mm, width 200mm, depth  from 20mm to 50mm, stamped Cartier to interior, case by Cartier New York.

Condition

Suede clutch bag in excellent condition, with some slight tarnish to clasp, canvas covered box with some slight scuffing to corners, and discolouration to silk interior in base. Blue leather hand bag in overall good condition, with some slight wear to corners on base, paper covered box with wear to edges and corners and split to lid, fastener to clasp deficient, silk interior in good condition.
