ENAMEL, JADE AND DIAMOND VANITY CASE, 1920s

The case of Chinoiserie style decorated with red enamel and applied with carved jade disks each inset with rose-cut diamonds, the base and thumb piece  millegrain-set with a line of rose-cut stones, the hinged doors opening to reveal a mirrored interior to a central divided compartment, inscribed 'To my wife with all my love Hew Xmas 1943', measurements approximately 84mm x 48mm x 13mm, French assay and maker's marks, British import marks for London, 1924.

Overall good condition, British import marks for 18 carat gold, and numbered 66332 with minor scratches and abrasions to exterior commensurate with age and wear, later restoration to red enamel on two front corners. Scratches to interior, weight approximately 173 grams.
