Description

The rectangular case pierced and inset to the centre and corners with cabochon amethysts, rubies and emeralds, highlighted with rose-cut diamonds, decorated with white enamel lines, engraved with a geometric giardinetti and floral motifs, opening to reveal two lidded compartments and a lipstick, inscribed 'Maeou from Freddie 30th Sept.1938', measuring approximately 82mm x 50mm x 13mm, signed Cartier Paris Londres New-York, French assay and indistinct maker's marks, British import marks for London, 1926, mirror later metal replacement.

Condition

British import marks for 18 carat gold. Mirror later replaced with silvered metal plate, gem stones to front slightly loose, possibly due to mirror replacement. Minor abrasions and scratches to exterior commensurate with age and wear, small dents to bottom rear left and bottom front right corners, with slight enamel loses. Weight approximately 188 grams. Overall good condition.
