ENAMEL AND DIAMOND VANITY CASE, JANESICH, CIRCA 1925

Description

The rectangular case decorated with red enamel applied to the centre with the Chinese 'Shou', character for happiness, millegrain-set with rose-cut diamonds, opening to reveal a mirrored interior, a powder compartment and hinged lipstick, measurements approximately 60mm x 41mm x 8mm, signed Janesich and numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Condition

Overall good condition, with some minor scratches and abrasions to exterior commensurate with age and wear, three enamel batons with small chips. French assay marks for 18 carat gold, and numbered 5555, residue of red lipstick inside lipstick case, weight approximately 106 grams.
