GOLD AND MICROMOSAIC NECKLACE, CIRCA 1870

Of fringe design, the gold bead necklace suspending a series of micromosaic plaques depicting floral bouquets, birds and beetles, alternating with baton links each terminating in a micromosaic flower head, to an S-shaped clasp, length approximately 390mm.

Very intricate micromosaic tesserae in very good condition. Two gold bar links deficient and one floral micromosaic terminal deficient. Mount with scratches to reverse consistent with age and wear. Tarnish to clasp, traces of solder to clasp fittings. Well articulated. In very good condition.
