Description
Comprising: a pendant cross of Latin design set with six hard stone cabochons and four intaglios, together with two bracelets each set with six hard stone intaglios to curb link connecting chains, length approximately 155mm each, and a pair of pendent earrings of graduated design each culminating in a banded agate intaglio depicting various classical subjects.
Provenance
Formerly the Property of Augusta Louisa Caroline Ellis, Lady Monson, circa 1840 - 1936, thence by family decent.
Condition
Twenty-six intaglios and eight cabochon agates in total, light scratches to the mounts consistent with age and wear, minor abrasions to the surface of agate and intaglios, one intaglio in the cross with small chip, top and drop earrings with lead soldering to the reverse of the pendants, possibly adapted from spare links. In very good condition.
