SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BANGLE, G. NARDI AND A GEM-SET BROOCH, 1960s

Description

The knife-edge hinged bangle of floral design, applied to the centre with a step-cut sapphire within a cluster of brilliant-cut diamonds and encircled by two gently graduating lines of circular-cut sapphires, inner circumference approximately 175mm, signed G. Nardi, case by Gioielleria G. Nardi, S. Marco N. 69-143, Venezia and accompanied by original receipt of purchase, dated 1962; together with a stylised brooch of branch design, decorated with rotating flower heads, embellished with circular-cut sapphires, emeralds, rubies and single-cut diamonds, one sapphire deficient, part illustrated.

Condition

Bangle: stamped 750 for 18 carat gold to tongue of clasp. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.70-0.90 carats, bright and lively stones. Sapphires well matched in colour, moderately strong saturation of colour. Some stones with chips and abrasions to crown facets. Safety catch to clasp. Minor scratches to polished surfaces. In good condition. Brooch: indistinct stamp to reverse. Coloured stones well matched in colour. In good condition.
