The walnut was previously gilded or painted and has been stripped out. Very good quality of carving, with chips, dents and woodworm holes overall. Few minor carved elements missing as well as the central ornement of the stretcher. The early 18th century red velvet upholstery extensively distressed and worn. Nevertheless, rare and attractive piece.
