Catalogue Note

Une paire de cache-pots similaire faisait partie de l'ancienne collection François Coty vendue à la galerie Charpentier, les 30 novembre et 1er décembre 1936, lot 71 (modèle sans anse).  Leurs formes évoquent très précisément certains modèles d'orfèvrerie d'époque Louis XIV aujourd'hui essentiellement connus par des dessins (Ballin, Delaunay....) ; la quasi totalité de ces objets ayant été fondus à la fin du du XVIIe siècle.
