Please note that the illustration is slightly too bright. The red tortoiseshell ground has a deeper color. As described in the catalogue, the commode previously had a marqueterie top, now replaced with a gray and white marble. Marquetery: Attractive design and good quality. Some elements of the tortoiseshell are now missing and have been replaced with a synthetic composition. There are some cracks in the panels and the marquetery is in an averagely good restored condition. The marquetery panels are highlighted by palisander framing. The engraving of the brass is worn and has become detached in a few places. The gilt bronze: In overall good condition with wear. The key hole of the upper right-hand drawer has been replaced. Overall pretty good restored condition, attractive model.
