  • 46 cm; 30.5 cm
the white enamelled dial signed Leblond à Paris contained within a fluted case, surmounted by a putto seated on cloud banks, flanked by pendant fruiting garlands raised on a shaped base, cast with guilloche.

Condition

In overall very good condition. MInor marks, casting flaws, minor traces of oxidation. In otherwise good condition.

Catalogue Note

This clock, emblematic of 'l'Amour vainqeur du Temps'  is inspired by a design in the Bibliothèque de l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris.  A comparable example stamped by the maître fondeur-doreur Michel Poisson, sold, Christie's, London, June 11, 1998, lot 31.  An identical example incorporating a white marble case, is illustrated, P. Kjellberg, Encyclopédie de la pendule Française, Paris, 1997, p. 176, fig. B.
