Description

  • Pingeon, recorded working in Paris by 1830
  • height 21 in.; width 17 1/2 in.; depth 6 in.
  • 53 cm; 44.5 cm; 15 cm
the white enamelled dial inscribed Pingeon a Paris, contained within a demi-lune case flanked by allegories of Europa and the Bull, and Ganymede and the Eagle, surmounted by figures representing Leda and the Swan, raised on a rectangular base centered by a bearded mask flanked by putti and Jupiter's thunderbolts on toupie feet.



 

Condition

The color less green and more attractive than in the catalogue illustration. Minor marks and traces of verdigris, the clock is dirty and would benefit from a light clean. In otherwise good condition.
