Description

  • height 29 1/4 in.; width 32 in.; depth 18 1/2 in.
  • 74 cm; 81 cm; 47 cm
with a rectangular triple divided top, the center opening to reveal a mirror and a fabric-lined well flanked by lidded compartments, the deep frieze centered by a drawer fitted with a leather-lined writing slide and recesses for inkwells; the top veneered to form a flower-filled basket flanked by agricultural trophies, the frieze veneered with trellis enclosing quatrefoil, raised on square tapered legs. Bearing the stamp J.F. Leleu JME, twice.

Condition

In overall very good condition. The color more attractive and less red than in the catalogue illustration. WIth minor marks, hairline cracks and minor restorations to the veneer. The ormolu in overall good condition, with minor rubbing consistent with age. The mirror support is probably a restoration and is in good working order.
