A gilt-brass and white marble perpetual calendar mantel clock, French

5-inch two-piece enamel dial with Brocot visible escapement and centre seconds, hand lacking, signed Dent, Paris, bell striking movement signed as the dial, Ellicott-type gridiron pendulum, a lever from the strike train driving the perpetual calendar dial below indicating month with equation of time, date, day of the week and moon phase, hand lacking, the time and calendar dials mounted within a foliate engraved gilt mask, the case with arched top surmounted by a bird and serpent and trailing flowers, the upper corners applied with foliate brackets and finials, richly cast egg and leaf base moulding above a marble plinth and ornate feet

Time dial has a number of hair cracks between XI and II, seconds hand lacking. Calendar dial is in good condition but lacking the centre hand. Movements complete but much in need of a clean. Case has cracks to the marble to left front and side, gilding in good condition but rather dirty. With pendulum, winder and adjustment key.
