- 258cm. 8ft. 5½in. high
12-inch dial with rococo scroll and shell spandrels, annular calendar, the foliate engraved centre with seconds dial and signed in a cartouche George Prior, London, strike/silent dial in the arch, rack and bell striking movement, strike/silent levers lacking, the restored case with concave sided cresting and flambeau finials above a foliate frieze fret and brass-capped stop fluted hood pillars, the trunk with conforming pilasters flanking the shaped door, the panelled plinth with a shaped apron
Condition
Dial in generally good clean condition, strike/silent hand replaced, old fault cracks to the brass in the arch. Movement is much in need of a clean, strike/silent levers lacking. Case has been very poorly re-polished and could be much improved, evidence of some minor repairs to old cracks, top finial missing, right moulding to cresting detached but we have it. With pendulum, 2 brass-cased weights, winder and 2 case keys.
