A gilt-copper Augsburg crucifix clock with replaced late 17th century French movement, Germany

the replaced late 17th century French movement signed De Baufre Paris with fusee and chain for the going train and verge escapement with plain gilt balance and pierced cock, the strike with pierced and engraved spring barrel, pierced blued steel gates and silver countwheel, the crucifix case surmounted by a revolving silver chapter ring, the cross flanked by standing figures and with a skull and crossbones at the base, the arcaded plinth concealing the bell, the ogee moulded foot decorated with foliate sprays and scrollwork

The case retains much of the original gilding, the hinge has been repaired and could be improved, replaced movement has been cleaned in the recent past and appears to run, bell replaced; with a winder
