A walnut and marquetry tilt-top centre table, possibly German circa 1840

of circular form, with a gilt-bronze-banded top centred by a  roundel flanked by four scrolled cartouches surmounted by neo-classical urns and tasselled drapery enclosing hunting scenes,  on a flaring ribbed stem and three splayed legs on scrolled feet

Colour far less orange more natural and attractive than in the catalogue photograph with more contrast of colours. Old very minor marks and scratches commensurate with age. The detail to the marquetry is most attractive with the hunting scenes. The gilt-bronze border is probably associated, as where it has been appplied in sections these do not match up. Some old minor restorations to the base which is slightly darker in colour and has some old minor restorations to carved elements and the scrolls on a couple of the feet need regluing as they are coming away slightly.This piece is much more attractive in reality and most impressive. In overall good condition.
