Description

  • 78cm high, 106cm diameter; 2ft. 6 1/2in., 3ft. 5 1/2in.
the circular top centerd by an octagon inlaid with a floral spray  flanked by eight diaper motifs decorated with landscape scenes flanking further landscape scenes surmounted by portrait medallions, on a facetted stem on a flower shaped base

Condition

Colour overall less orange and much more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Charming detail to the transfer printed decoration. Some very minor retouching to two octagonal panels, but the decoration is generally in good order. Old minor marks, chips and craquelure to top commensurate with age. The stylised Greek key border on the rim of the top appears repainted. The walnut on the base is rather dry and scuffed and would benefit from some attention. There are several sections of veneer missing from the petal-shaped base, which will need restoration. The fruitwood moulding at the top of the stem is partially missing and will need to be restored. An unusual lot in need of some minor attention.
