- 87cm. high, 57cm. diameter; 2ft.10¼in., 1ft 10¼in.
with a circular top centred by a view of St Peter's with six roundels depicting The Coliseum, The Pantheon, The Roman Forum, Tomb of Cecilia Metella, The Arch of Titus, the Temple of Vesta, on a nero del Belgio ground within a Rosso Antico border, with frieze drawer on three fluted monopodia surmounted by ram's masks terminating in hoof feet on a concave-sided triform stretcher similarly inset with marble
Condition
Some water marks on the top. Old minor restorations to veneer which have been well executed and which are hardly noticeable. Minor section of veneer missing from base which can easily be restored. Old restored cracks to bowl shaped upper section and a couple of construction cracks which can easily be refilled. In overall good condition. Decorative.
