- 132cm. high, 79cm. wide; 4ft. 4in., 2ft. 7in.
the cresting in the form of a scrolled boss containing a shield with three crowns surmounted by a crown suspending berried laurel swags above a rectangular frame carved with leaves, beading and a ribbon-twist border
Condition
Colour of the gilding is less greenish and more golden and attractive than in the catalogue illustration. Very minor surface dirt which can easily be cleaned. Very attractive detail to carving. In overall good conserved condition.

Bo Vahlne,Tullgarns Slott, 1992, p. 19, for a view of the Blue Salon, with a virtually identical frame containing a portrait of Fredrik Adolf. Tullgarn palace was a summer Palace south of Stockholm and the interiors are regarded as amongst Sweden's finest. It was a popular summer palace amongst Swedish royalty. In 1772, it was acquired by the crown and became a Royal residence.
