A French gilt-painted and patinated wrought iron console table

with a moulded grey marble top and conforming arc d'arbalète shaped base, the apron frieze with gilt foliate fronds either side of a central stylised acanthus, the bold scrolled bracket supports with similar decoration and united by stretchers supporting a shell motif

Colour of wrought iron slightly lighter, gilding slighly darker and the marble top is grey in colour and more attractive than in the catalogue illustration. Some wear to gilding as visible from photograph. There is a largish chip to the rear right corner of the marble base and another small one to the rear left corner and some minor chips and pitting to the marble top. There is a medium sized chip to the left side of the marble top, which is not too noticeable. There are some old minor marks and dents to the wrought iron commensurate with age. The piece is unstable at present and has not been displayed in the gallery with its marble top on it as will need to be attached to a wall with and added support along the back. Attractive model in overall good condition.
