A large carved giltwood and moulded glass mirror Régence, circa 1715

the pierced cresting with a central rocaille reserve holding two birds, flanked on either side by a dragon, above a divided mirror plate, with on either side  a moulded glass border surmounted by a further dragon and raised on a reserve with military trophies, with a heart shaped central reserve to the apron

Good overall condition with some minor wear to the gilding. The colour of the gilding is slightly darker and more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Old minor chips and evidence of old very minor woodworm which appears no longer active. The main plate has some losses to the gilding especially towards the bottom of the plate. Several of the border marginal plates have cracks some of which are not visible in the catalogue. Beautiful carving and an impressive model and size.
