Catalogue Note

Some of the decorative motifs (the winged genius and relief head) found on the present vases are inspired by neo-Assyrian sculpture from the Palace of Ashurnasirpal II at Nimrud (modern Iraq), 9th century B.C. The winged scarab on the base is in the Egyptian style.
