the secretaire drawer opening to an arrangement of pigeon holes and small drawers above a leather-lined writing surface, the reverse with a small metal plaque numbered 129 and stamped KENNETH FRANZHEIM / ARCHITECT, each section with a partial paper label inscribed JEFFREY SONS & Co. Ltd., / HOUSE FURNISHERS / NORTHHAMPTON / A30464  and A22574. Partially composed of eighteenth century elements, fitted for electricity, restorations.

Condition

Partially composed of eighteenth century elements; each section fitted for electricity; the upper section with repaired breaks to cresting rail; the interior now fitted with electric lights; patch to bottom back right corner of right side panel; the lower section with some replaced section to reeded edge of right and left sides; the secretaire drawer with a later-leather lined surface and with losses around later hinges and with losses to the reverse of the drawer front, one small drawer to secretaire drawer lacking; patches, chips and losses to veneers of drawer dividers, feet and lower aprons; the underside with some later blocks and elements; the backs of drawer fronts with filled-in channels; later handles; overall with old marks, scratches, scuffs and bruises.
