Description

  • the largest 19cm, 7 1/2 in high
octagonal pierced covers, the bodies later monogrammed, together with a George I silver caster, Thomas Bamford, London, 1723, pierced cover, octagonal, and a similar George I silver caster, maker's mark a small w and dot below in a heart, probably Samuel Welder, London, 1721

Condition

The set of three casters with very good hallmarks on bodies and covers, the larger cover with a dent to the pierced decoration on one panel near the top, the two smaller casters and covers numbered 1 and 3, the large numbered 6, in overall very good condition; the Thomas Bamford caster with good marks on body and cover, the underside of body with later engraved initial W.B, the cover with a panel added on the inside to limit the pouring; the Samuel Welder caster with good marks on body and cover, the cover with a dent and split to one panel, otherwise in good condition.
