Description
- 11.2cm, 4 1/2 in high
compressed circular, ribbed and fluted, detachable cover, later initialled below Baron's coronet, ivory handle, marked on body and cover
Provenance
Augusta Emily (née Hamilton Seymour) second wife of Hugh Chomondeley 2nd Baron Delamere, who were married on 27 December 1860, and then by descent to the present owner. She was described by a contemporary Sir Horace Rumbold as a `living Greuze' after Jean-Baptiste Greuze, famous for his paintings of beautiful women. Vicary Gibbs ed. Condition
Small repair with loss of gilding to section of the body lip below cover, this is not unsightly. Marks good and clear, general condition good, some minor normal losses to gilding at the highlights but overall a very beautiful colour . Handle later, overall a lovely teapot
