Description
- 75cm. high, 49cm. wide, 46cm. deep; 2ft. 5½ in., 1ft. 7¼ in., 1ft. 6in.
the hexagonal hinged and moulded tops surmounted by gadrooned domes with pinapple finials, the interior of one with four lead-lined divisions, the other with seven lead-lined divisions, each guilloche mounted frieze above four moulded splayed supports headed by a ram`s mask and with hoof feet with concealed castors, the sides each with a pair of garland ring handles on a pierced patera back plate, the unside of one wine cooler retaining the manuscript paper label `ENID LADY BURNHAM/ WYCOMBE END HOUSE.'
Provenance
Enid, Lady Burnham ( 1894-1979) was the widow of Edward Frederick Levy-Lawson, 4th Baron Burnham, CB., DSO, MC, TD, DL Bucks, (1890-1963).
Condition
Good overall condition. Both wine coolers with two repaired cracks to the legs. Minor old marks bruising and scratches.

Frances Collard in Regency Furniture, p.245 illustrates a wine cooler of identical form to the present lot together with a design by Conrath published in The Cabinet Maker & Art Furnisher of January 1895.
