A Regency mahogany campaign `chamber' or writing table circa 1820, attributed to Gillows of Lancaster

This piece is generally in good condition. It has been re-finished. There are some old marks and scratches. There have been some minor repairs to mouldings and there are thin age cracks at the top of two legs. A design for this type of table appears in the Gillows Estimate Sketch Books, dated 1810, and described by them as a `chamber writing-table', ( No.344/144, p.11, Westminster City Archives).
