A small and unusual pair of Italian orange painted and carved giltwood console tables, Lombard mid 18th century

Description
- 82cm. high, 108cm. wide, 42cm. deep; 2ft.8¼in., 3ft.6½in., 1ft.6¾in.
each with a macchia vecchia veneered marble top above a pierced frieze, on four scrolled legs terminating in scrolled feet and joined by a scrolled back stretcher, the whole carved with acanthus leaves and scrolls; the painting and gilding retouched
Condition
Colour of gilding less greenish and more golden and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Old very minor marks and chips to marble top and very minor areas of infill. Carved sections strengthened at back and legs have later wood inserts to strengthen. Part of the lower section of carving on left freize of one recarved. Attractive lot in overall good restored condition.
