Description
- 28cm., 11in. high
each of flattened ovoid form, painted on both sides in Kakiemon style with a flowering branch issuing from a stylized rockwork next to an oriental fence, one showing a colourful bird in flight, the other with a bird perched on the branch, the foot and rim embellished with a blue and red line, the cylindrical covers with a gilt knop (some restoration to covers)

Condition
each with some loss to blue enamels to each side of the body and the blue line running around the foot, in some areas the blue enamel has run, there are four small areas on the body where there has been some repainting, visible only under the UV light, one cover broken in several pieces and restuck, the other with one section of rim broken (c. 2cm. x. 1cm.) and restuck, and with one related haircrack running from rim to finial (c. 2cm.)
