Description
each back in the form of a stylised lyre applied with a paterae above a circular padded seat on splayed legs, the front legs terminating in paw feet, on rear sabre legs; stained to simulate mahogany
Condition
Colour less orange and more attractive than in the catalogue photographJoints sound and sturdy. Parcel gilding chipped off as visible from photograph. Some of the splats on some of the chairs are later replacements as are the four finials on the top rail. Splits in the veneer especially around the seat rail. Old restorations generally. The staining is worn in places as visible from photo revealing the fruitwood beneath. One of the small balls is missing on top of one of the chairs. In otherwise good condition.
