A gilt-bronze and bronze mahogany jardinière en athénienne Empire, first quarter 19th century

with three projecting female heads terminating in an acanthus leaf and an anthemion cast gallery and pinecone finial on three inward curved supports joined by a ring stretcher centred by a flame terminating in paw feet 

Colour overall much more reddish and bronze gilding less greenish and much more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Very attractive detail to the gilt-bronze and bronze bust with some very minor pitting. There are some old very minor restorations to the veneer which have been very well executed and are hardly noticeable. An unusual and impressive piece. In overall good conserved condition.
