Description

  • each: 94cm. high; 3ft. 1in.
each in the form of a standing neo-classical figure in drapery holding in each hand a baluster shaped pole issuing three scrolled candlearms with a further central raised candle-nozzle, on a plinth base with egg-and-dart frieze, the front with a neo-classical female figure blowing a trumpet

Condition

Colour overall less greenish and much more natural and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Superb quality casting. Very minor tarnishing and pitting to gilt-bronze especially to the poles and the top of the bases on both are rubbed as visible from photograph. On one candelabra all the drip-pans bar two are missing, but these can easily be replaced. On one of the stems the rim where the section joins the flaring baluster is slightly warped, but this can easily be straightened out. Very strong and unusual model, beautifully sculptured and cast. In overall very good condition and a rare model and highly recommended.
