Description
each with a pierced tapering back centred by a leather upholstered medallion above outward scrolled arms and bowed padded seat, on square tapering legs terminating in block feet, the oval medallions incised on the reverse with stylised foliage on a stippled ground, the frame carved with beading
Condition
Colour of gilding more golden and more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. The joints on one chair are not sound and sturdy and will need some strengthening. There are hairline cracks as visible from photograph, which can easily be filled. The gilding is worn in places as visible from photograph. One armchair has been reblocked and on the same chair there is some minor damage on the reverse of the roundel on the back, which can easily be restored. A rare model in otherwise good condition.
