Description

  • each: 157cm. high; 5ft.13/4in.
each with a circular top above a baluster and gadrooned stem, on a triform base with the coat of arms of France, on scrolled feet, the whole carved with scrolls, rocaille and foliage on a ribbed trelliswork and dot ground

Condition

Colour of gilding more golden and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Old very minor marks and chips to giltwood as visible from photograph and some minor hairline cracks especially beneath the circular top which do not detract from the piece. Attractive detail to carving. A flowerhead on one has been reglued. There is evidence of a previous fixing on the top, possibly where they were formerly mounted with candelabra. They are rather dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. An attractive model in overall good condition.
