Description
- 80cm. high, 49.5cm.wide, 38cm. deep; 2ft.7in., 1ft.7in., 1ft.2½in.
with an oval three quarter galleried rouge griotte marble top, above a frieze drawer and tabour opening to reveal an oval white marble lined recess, flanked by fluted stiles, on square supports, joined by a later kidney-shaped shelf, on fluted turned tapering legs, terminating in gilt-bronze toupie feet, with later gilt-bronze mounts throughout
Condition
The marble has restored break and small section missing along the front edge. Gilt-bronze gallery slightly tarnished and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. Marble inside dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. Shelf patched and reveneered and strengthened beneath and veneered with a very thin layer of wood. Mounts later and regilt. Some minor splits in veneer. Formerly with castors. In overall good restored condition.
