5¼-inch replaced enamel dial with concentric date ring, bell striking movement with flat bottomed plates, altered silk suspension regulation, the drum surmounted by an eagle with out-stretched wings, flanked by a pair of seated classical figures reading and writing, the bow-ended breakfront base set with crisply chased masks, sphynxs and foliage, on milled feet

Dial is replaced. Movement is clean and looks as though it would run, later suspension adjustment knob to the rear. Case is in generally good condition with a few minor edge chips to the marble, other scuffs and marks to the gilding, patinated bronzes in good condition, later glazed back to the drum. With pendulum but no winder.
