- Approximately: 206cm. high, 257cm. wide; 6ft. 9in., 8ft. 5in.
woven with a landscape tapestry with wading birds in the foreground with large flowering plants, and river beyond, flanked by trees at each side incorporating flying and perched bird, the hills in the background with a seated shepherd and resting couple, and buildings nestled in the landscape extending into the distance, the central sky area woven with two flying mallards; all within a detailed four-sided border with strapwork supporting flowers and trails, each lower corner with a small basket, all on a dark brown ground, with further narrow banded yellow and brown inner and outer borders; the tapestry woven in 18th century style
Condition
This tapestry is lined. It has old hoops across the top. It is recommended that Velcro be attached for future hanging purposes. Slightly faded colours. Some dirt to sky. In good overall condition commensurate with age. Decorative tapestry of versatile size.
