Description

  • 193cm. high, 118cm. wide, 58cm. deep; 6ft.4in., 3ft.10½in., 1ft.11in.
the upper section with an arched cresting above a pair of glazed doors enclosing two later shelves, the lower section with three serpentine drawers with three female mask escutcheons and foliate cast handles, on later flattened bun feet, the sides inlaid with a diaper motif

Provenance

Edmund Lowe, Munich, 1970

Condition

Colour less orange and more natural and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. The mounts are slightly dirty, and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. The gilding is also worn; old minor restorations to the veneer and some patches commensurate with age. The cornice looks to be a later edition, as does the moulding at the base of the upper section. The drawers internally have been stained, as has the back. In overall good restored condition.
