Condition

Colour slightly stronger overall, much more attractive than in catalogue illustration. Old minor marks, chips, and scratches and old restorations to veneer commensurate with age. The piece is also in macassar ebony with some ebonising. There are some minor sections of mouldings missing on the top, the raised section of which has water damage and some fading. There are some old, very minor restorations to the veneer which are hardly noticeable and commensurate with age. There is a minor section of moulding missing from top right column flanking the niche, together with the far left column. There are also some minor sections of ripple-cut moulding missing. There is also evidence of previous fixings within the architectural niches. There is an ivory piece in the chequerboard floor missing which can be easily restored. There have been restorations to internal niche. There are minor sections of veneer lifting from left side and some minor sections of ivory inlay missing. There is a vertical construction crack down front of each door which can easily be filled. There has been a change to the escutcheon on the front right door. An attractive piece in overall good original condition.
