Condition
Colour of blue is slightly darker and there is more of a contrast between the colour of the polychrome flowers than appears in the catalogue photograph. Attractive detail to carving. Joints sound and sturdy. There has been some re-touching to the painting and gilding. The arms have been attached with metal pieces to the seat-rail. There appears to be an old minor restoration to the top-rail which has been very well-executed and not too noticeable. There is some minor wear to the arms, which is normal, and has been touched up. Evidence of old minor worm which appears to be no longer active. An unusual model featuring flowers carved in high relief rather than just the usual painted flowers. An attractive piece in overall good, conserved condition.
