  • 95cm. high, 149cm. wide, 79cm. deep; 3ft. 1in., 4ft.10in., 2ft.6½in.
each of serpentine form, with a sienna marble top, above a pierced frieze on cabriole legs, the whole carved with rocaille and scrolls

Condition

Colour of marble tops slightly darker and the gilding is less greenish and much more golden and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. There are some old very minor marks and chips to the marble tops which are veneered and not solid marble, especially along the rear edge which are not too noticeable. There are also some very minor areas of pitting, especially to one of the tops and small areas of infill. On the other table, there is a medium sized chip to the front right corner of the marble top, which can easily be restored. There are also some old minor restorations to the carving, which have been touched up in places. The gilding has been refreshed and lacquered, with some very minor chips and wear to the gilding. There is also evidence of old minor worm which appears to be no longer active. On one table, the front left leg has a restored break, which has been touched up and would benefit from a more sympathetic restoration. There are also hairline cracks generally, commensurate with age and other scattered cracks, e.g. to the front right knee of the same table. On the other table, there has also been a minor area of loss due to insect damage to the front of the rear right leg, which will need some minor attention. Both tables have been reblocked. Attractive design and in overall good conserved condition.
