the cylindrical body covered with a dark brown slip ground trailed in white on the exterior with the initials M.C. above the date 1789, flanked on either side by a stylised foliate device. Minor chips.

Condition
There is a 1/8-inch shallow chip and another tiny chip on the rim above the handle and there is another deep ½-inch chip on the rim. Otherwise the cup is in generally good condition.
