Tait, 1862-63, on heavy wove paper, with margins, generally in good condition except the first with repairs in the image at upper right and left, touched-in and backed, both with repaired tears in the margins, light- and mat stain, framed (2 prints)

Condition

American Hunting Scenes: The print is generally in good condition as catalogued. There is a large forked tear (c. 4 inches vertically and 3 diagonally) in the image at upper right along with three shorter repairs (c. 1-2 inches) - also visibly repaired - in the image at upper left, in the center and to the left of center. These are touched-in and backed on the verso. Additional repairs can be seen in the upper margin and right sheet edge. Overall discoloration is comprised of light- and mat stain and surface soiling which continues on the verso. sheet 582 by 810 mmm margins c. 2-2 1/2 inches Brook Trout Fishing: The print is generally in good condition as catalogued. There are two visibly repaired tears in the upper margin at left and rich, each c. 2 inches, the tear at left extending just into the image, with two additional shorter tears and a shallow loss at left and right sheet edges. The lower sheet corners have been repaired. The paper tone has darkened over all due to light-stain and surface soiling, with dark scattered fox marks visible in the margins and on the verso. Sheet 572 by 783 mm margins c. 2 - 2 1/2 inches
