  • 22.5 cm
painted in the center with the arms of Clifford of Chudleigh above a gilt banderole, and on the rim with a crest, trailing floral sprays and a basket of flowers between underglaze-blue cell diaper bands around the cavetto and the rim edge, the underside of the rim with further floral sprays. Minor wear to the gilding.

Two similar plates painted with the arms of Clifford of Chudleigh but from different services are illustrated by David Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, pp. 298 and 306, nos. G3 and H1, who refers to, but does not illustrate, pieces from the same service as the present examples with underglaze-blue diaper borders, on p. 814.
