bateba phuwe, le personnage féminin puissamment campé sur des jambes semi-fléchies, les coudes en retrait pour mettre en valeur le torse bombé, ainsi que les mains et le visage tendus vers l'avant. A la vigueur de la pose répond l'intensité de l'expression, offerte par les yeux ronds exorbités entièrement cernés par les arcades sourcilières, et la bouche prognathe. Epaisse patine sacrificielle, sombre et croûteuse.

Selon Schaedler (1992 : 67), la statue présentée ici - provenant de la région de Nako, dans le nord du pays Lobi - est l'œuvre d'un artiste Puguli. Elle relève du style très ancien nommé jãa-pwa, dont le trait le plus significatif est l'expression intense du visage, offerte par les yeux écarquillés, entièrement cernés par les arcades sourcilières. Cette caractéristique a valu à ces œuvres le surnom de "Lobi à lunettes".

Elle se distingue par l'exceptionnelle puissance de la sculpture et de l'expression, accentuée par l'épaisse patine sacrificielle, attestant son usage répété et prolongé.
