Le hiératisme de la pose est accentué par la rigueur des lignes et de la construction, les volumes agencés en une succession de plans - droits ou inclinés en profondeur - inscrivant avec force le corps dans l'espace. A la rigueur cubiste de la construction répond la puissance de l'expression, les traits géométriques s'étirant sur toute la surface du visage épannelé. Belle patine sombre, brillante.
