zamblé, le long visage convexe aux traits finement modelés prolongé par les cornes recourbées l'une vers l'autre. Les lignes convergent vers la forme cintrée du museau, accentuant l'effet produit par la mâchoire projetée dans l'espace, grande ouverte sur les crocs puissants, évoquant le léopard dont une peau recouvre le corps du danseur. Il se distingue par la très belle tension des courbes et des contre-courbes. Patine sombre, rehaussée de kaolin et de pigments brun rouge.  

Provenance

Collecté par le Gouverneur Général Joseph Guyon, lors de son séjour en tant que gouverneur par intérim de la Côte d'Ivoire, entre juin 1911 et décembre 1913.

Condition

Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. The left horn has been broken and repaired (glued). The very end of the horns broken, missing, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Small loss along the top edge at the back. A few superficial chips to the reliefs.
