Catalogue Note
In the early 20th century there was a bequest of money left by Sheriff Thoms to restore and rearrange the interior of St. Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall. During this process the choir stalls and a series of pews were taken down. It could be at this time that the panel was removed and the plaque was attached.
