- Green stool: 44cm. high, 44.5cm. wide, 39cm. deep; 1ft. 5¼in., 1ft.5½in., 1ft. 3¼in., Red stool: 44cm. high, 52cm. wide, 37cm. deep 1ft. 5¼in., 1ft. 8½in., 1ft. 2½in.
one with a rectangular padded top upholstered in 18th century silk brocade with gold metal threat fringing on composite turned and tapering legs joined by an 'h'-form stretcher, the other with a rectangular padded top upholstered in 18th Century silk damask with metal thread fringing on baluster turned and tapered legs joined by an 'X'-form stretcher on flattened bun feet, the seat rail incised with a heart enclosing the letters 'LV'; upholstery associated
Condition
Green chair: Joints sound and sturdy. Old very minor marks and chips commensurate with age. Attractive patina. Old restored break in the underside of the stretcher which has been well executed. In overall good condition.
Red stool: 44cm. high, 52cm. wide, 37cm. deep 1ft. 5¼in., 1ft. 8½in., 1ft. 2½in.
Condition: Old minor marks chips and scratches commensurate with age. Old restorations to the breaks in some of the legs. The stretcher is possibly a later addition. There is a hairline crack in the diaper in the centre of the stretcher.
